. Our Affiliation
We are affiliated with the local South Texas Baptist Association, the Southern Baptists
of Texas State Convention and the National Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), and we
contribute financially to the Cooperative Program
. Our Doctrine
We are a conservative Bible believing church, and we ascribe to the Baptist Faith
and Message (This not a creed; it is a confession of faith)
. Church Polity
We are an autonomous church. We have a Deacon Body, and most of our decision
making is done through a democratic process. Our parliamentary procedure is based
on Robert's Rules of Order.
. Church History
Our first Worship Service took place on May 24th of 2009. The Clayton Funeral Home
was gracious to us and allowed us to use their facility for free for the first few months.
After this, we met for eighteen months at the Massey-Ranch Elementary School. In 2011,
we were given an opportunity to purchase our current property and facilities. We had our
first service at this location on July 31st, 2011. The word "Providential" is appropriate,
because our church began without any support from another church or a mission
organization; but nevertheless, God has sustained us and blessed us in numerous ways.
Our hope and prayer has been that God will establish a conservative Bible believing church
in Pearland, Alvin, Manvel, Friendswood, Houston and the surrounding area. We also pray
that we will remain faithful to our Lord until His glorious return.
We are transparent in many ways. We have a Church Treasurer and others who assist
him. Our membership and financial records appear on a weekly basis in our church bulletins,
and a monthly report is made available at every congregational meeting. Our church budget
is approved annually by a vote from the church body. Our Church Constitution and Bylaws
are available to church members, and those considering membership, upon request.

Financial Stewardship During the Corona Virus
Our church is open now; and so, we want to encourage you to come to our services and to give your tithes and offerings directly. If you are unable to do so, you can set up a bill pay through your local bank that will go to our P.O. box. Otherwise, the safest way for you to give is to mail your tithes and offerings to our P.O. Box which
is The Providential Baptist Church P.O.Box 841997 Pearland, Texas 77584-1997. You can also drop off your tithes and offerings in the drop box in front of the church from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Sunday mornings. We DONOT recommend putting your tithes and offerings in the drop box any other time, because we might not have people there to collect it.
