About Us
. Our Affiliation
We are affiliated with the local South Texas Baptist Association, the Southern Baptists
of Texas State Convention and the National Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), and we
contribute financially to the Cooperative Program
. Our Doctrine
We are a conservative Bible believing church, and we ascribe to the Baptist Faith
and Message (This not a creed; it is a confession of faith)
. Church Polity
We are an autonomous church. We have a Deacon Body, and most of our decision
making is done through a democratic process. Our parliamentary procedure is based
on Robert's Rules of Order.
. Church History
Our first Worship Service took place on May 24th of 2009. The Clayton Funeral Home
was gracious to us and allowed us to use their facility for free for the first few months.
After this, we met for eighteen months at the Massey-Ranch Elementary School. In 2011,
we were given an opportunity to purchase our current property and facilities. We had our
first service at this location on July 31st, 2011. The word "Providential" is appropriate,
because our church began without any support from another church or a mission
organization; but nevertheless, God has sustained us and blessed us in numerous ways.
Our hope and prayer has been that God will establish a conservative Bible believing church
in Pearland, Alvin, Manvel, Friendswood, Houston and the surrounding area. We also pray
that we will remain faithful to our Lord until His glorious return.
We are transparent in many ways. We have a Church Treasurer and others who assist
him. Our membership and financial records appear on a weekly basis in our church bulletins,
and a monthly report is made available at every congregational meeting. Our church budget
is approved annually by a vote from the church body. Our Church Constitution and Bylaws
are available to church members, and those considering membership, upon request.

Corona Virus Update
On Wednesday June 17th, we will resume our Wednesday evening Bible Study and prayer
service beginning at 7 p.m.. We have not yet resumed our Wednesday meal or children or youth
activities.
In case you were unaware, we resumed our 11:00 a.m. worship service back on May 17th,
and we resumed some of our Sunday School classes on June 14th. We have one adult class
meeting in the sanctuary to allow for social distancing, a college and career class meeting
in the fellowship hall, one youth class, one children's class and a nursery. These classes meet
at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
Financial Stewardship During the Corona Virus
We looked into setting up an online payment system, the problem is that credit
card companies charge 3%. You can set up a bill pay through your local bank that
will be sent to our P.O. Box Address. The safest way for our members to give tithes and offerings at this time is to mail them to our P.O. Box address which is Providential
Baptist Church P.O.Box 841058 Pearland, Texas 77584. You can also drop off your
tithes and offerings in the drop box in front of the church from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
on Sunday mornings while we are live streaming our service. We DONOT recommend
putting your tithes and offerings in the drop box any other time, because we might not have people there to collect it.
